The Room Division program is an intensive 1-year course designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the various aspects of hotel operations, with a primary focus on housekeeping operations following 5-star hotel standards, public area operations and utility cleaning, and front office operations. Through a combination of theoretical instruction, hands-on training, and practical experiences, students will develop the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in the dynamic field of room division.

Course Structure

The program is divided into four quarters, each offering a unique set of courses that cover the key areas of room division operations. The curriculum blends theoretical lessons, practical training, and real-world experiences to ensure a well-rounded education.

Q1 : Housekeeping
Operations – 5-Star Hotel Standards
  • Introduction to housekeeping operations in a 5-star hotel environment
  • Understanding housekeeping procedures, standards, and best practices
  • Proper cleaning techniques, including room preparation, cleaning, and inspection
  • Knowledge of different cleaning agents, equipment, and their proper usage

Q2 : Public Area Operations
and Utility Cleaning
  • Public area operations and maintenance in hotels
  • Cleaning and maintenance of public spaces, including lobbies, corridors, and lounges
  • Proper techniques for cleaning carpets, upholstery, and specialized surfaces
  • Waste management and recycling practices
  • Utility cleaning and understanding the role of utility cleaners in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene
Q3 : Front Office
Operations
  • Introduction to front office operations and the role of the front desk

  • Handling guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests
Q4 : Integrated Room
Division Experience
